  • I do not have an owners manual for our 500sl. I need to identify the meaning of a warning light that is a circle with brackets on both sides. Is this for brake wear?
    How do I change the oil and filter for this car? Where is the oil filter?

  • The warning light is the brake pad light. You have only a couple of hundred miles left once that light comes on. The best thing to do is to order the oil filters by the case. You can get the best deal at www.benzstuff.com  FedEx brings them to your door. The oil filter is located on the right side of the engine behind the alternator. You may have to remove the air intake tube on that side. You will need a standard cup socket for the oil filter housing cap. These are available at any last auto parts store. Be sure to use a 6 point 13mm socket for the oil plug. JON
